2023 VWAP CONFERENCE

The annual VWAP Conference is back at Brasstown Valley. We love this location as it is nestled in a quiet town with lots of picturesque views and cozy spots for advocates to network with their peers. For anyone new to prosecution, this is an annual conference we host for prosecution-based victim witness assistance personnel.

When: February 22-24, 2023

Where: Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris

Welcome and Announcements: 12:25pm on Wednesday, February 22nd

Concludes: 12:15pm on Friday, February 24th

No-Show Policy: Please review the no-show policy that became effective January 1, 2022.

Tentative topics include:

*Up to 11 Victim Advocate hours available*

  • Survivor Story
  • Communications and Setting Healthy Boundaries
  • Identifying and Responding to Stalking
  • Working with Survivors of Cold Case Sexual Assaults
  • Advocacy for Victims of Gang Violence
  • Case Law Update for Victim Advocates
  • And more!

$225 Registration Fee | Please note that, unfortunately, because PAC is the recipient of the VOCA funds, offices cannot use those VOCA funds to pay a registration fee to PAC (you can't pay yourself with your own grant funds). However, offices will still be able to pay travel costs with VOCA funds.

All registrations must be paid in full by Friday, February 3, 2023 to hold your spot at the conference. If you paid for your registration and can no longer attend the conference, the refund cut-off date is Friday, February 3, 2023. Any refund requests after this date will have to be reviewed by the Director of Training, Kelli Baxter.

CLE & POST | There will be no CLEs for prosecutors or POST credit available to law enforcement officers. This conference will only provide victim advocate credit.

Attendance | Again this conference is open to ALL prosecution-based victim advocates throughout the state regardless of funding source. Due to limited seating, we are monitoring registration and will cancel registrants who do not meet this requirement. If you have questions about this, please contact us at training@pacga.org.

No On-site Registration | If one does not register ahead of time, he or she will not be allowed to register for the conference on-site. Please ensure your registration is complete. You should receive a registration number and a confirmation email. Please check your spam/junk folder as the first few emails from Glue Up may go here.

Reimbursements | Unfortunately due to cuts to our VOCA grant, we will not be providing any scholarships this year. You will have to use your VOCA funds or if your DA approves travel to the conference, you may submit reimbursement to PAC and be reimbursed out of your DA's travel budget. Please click this reimbursement document for more information.

PAC's Updated Reimbursement Guide | If you are wondering how to calculate per diem on travel days, what needs to appear on a receipt in order to be reimbursed for lodging expenses, or to how to submit travel claims for conflict cases, our guide covers these topics and much more. Please view the guide located at: https://pacga.org/about-pacga/departments/fiscal-services/pac-reimbursement-process/.

Certificates | Certificates templates for this conference will be emailed to registered attendees after the event has wrapped.

Reservations | When making your reservations, please inform the hotel that you are with the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia group. Below is the negotiated rate for Brasstown. At this time, we have not negotiated with another hotel yet. If anything changes, we will let you know.
