Event Details

In the United States, crises such as natural disasters, mass casualty incidents, and other emergencies can strike at any moment, affecting individuals, communities, and organizations. The impact of these crises can be devastating, with significant consequences for public health, safety, and well-being. As a result, it is essential that individuals and organizations are equipped to respond effectively in the face of crisis. This requires a comprehensive understanding of crisis response principles, strategies, and techniques, as well as the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize the safety and well-being of all individuals involved. The Basic Crisis Response Training is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to respond appropriately in the event of a crisis, and to help organizations build a culture of preparedness and resilience.

The Basic Crisis Response Training is being offered to Victim Advocates working in prosecutorial offices. This interactive and hands-on training will consist of twenty-four hours of techniques and protocols for providing crisis intervention to traumatized individuals. This training focuses on the fundamentals of crisis and trauma, and how to adapt basic techniques to individuals and groups in this area also known as psychological first aid. Combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills, this training will teach attendees how to provide crisis intervention, education, and emotional first aid in the aftermath of a critical incident, either small-scale or mass-casualty.
