Event Details

There are many hats that victim advocates wear, from assisting victims during the criminal justice proceedings to being the liaison between prosecutors and the victims and everything in between. Stepping into the role of a victim advocate is rewarding, but it can have its challenges. That's where we come in to share resources and support to assist you in your everyday work. This course is for new advocates with less than two years of experience. Below is a list of the topics that will be covered.

  • The Many Hats We Wear
  • Early Victim Notification Process
  • Managing Prosecution Team Expectations
  • Marsy's Law / Crime Victim's Bill of Rights
  • And more!

This course will offer up to 5.5 hours victim advocate hours, and certificate templates will be emailed after the event has concluded. Unfortunately, this course does not provide CLE/POST hours for attorneys or law enforcement officers.

Registration begins at 8:30am with the first lecture starting at 9:00am.

This course is pre-approved under VOCA. Please review this list to see additional trainings approved for fiscal year 2023.

If you need lodging for this training, we recommend the Drury Inn and Suites next to our office. Please use this link to view rates and book online (corporate code is 325453).
