The Georgia Center for Child Advocacy and PAC welcomes you to attend Forensic Interviews: What You Need to Know. This two-day training is open to attorneys working with children in child maltreatment (GALs, Child Advocate Attorneys, DFCS/SAAGs, prosecutors). This training is grant-funded by the Children's Justice Act, and it is free to attend.


Forensic Interviews: What You Need to Know

The Tentative Agenda Topics May Include:

  • Child Advocacy Centers, Forensic Interviews and the MDT
  • Background of Challenges with Child Abuse Cases
  • Intersection of Court Proceedings
  • Forensic Interview Protocols and Best Practices
  • Assessing the Forensic Interview
  • Using the Forensic Interview in Your Case
  • Tips for Engaging the Child in Court


Attendees will be asked to review a forensic interview prior to the training and make note of any concerns they have regarding the interview. Participants will get the household information and the initial referral to the CAC for the forensic interview. During the training, we will use this case throughout the day as a reference point. Please come prepared.


The training is approved for up to 12 CLE Credits only. No POST or Advocate credit at this time.

This is a free training. No meals or lodging will be provided. The only reimbursements that will be offered are to staff of the District Attorneys' Offices if their DA approves of the travel.
