Fundamentals of Prosecution 2024

Hello new prosecutors! Welcome to the field and welcome to the Fundamentals of Prosecution Course. This lecture-based course is specifically designed to prepare newly hired Assistant District Attorneys and Assistant Solicitor-Generals to make the transition from law student to prosecutor. This course is the Continuing Legal Education component of the Transition Into Prosecution Program and meets all the requirements for newly admitted lawyers under Rule 8-104 of the State Bar of Georgia (Transition Into Law Practice Program). Students who attend the Fundamentals of Prosecution Course and participate in the mentoring component will acquire "the practical skills, judgment and professional values necessary to practice law in a highly competent manner" required of the public prosecutor. The registration deadline is Wednesday, November 6th. There will be no on-site registration.
Eligibility
Prosecutors admitted to practice in the State of Georgia on or after July 1, 2005, who are participating in the Transition Into Law Practice Program (TILLP), are required to attend Fundamentals of Prosecution as part of their mentoring plan. You can find more information about TILLP here.

Registration Fee
The registration fee is $225.00. This fee covers both your registration and your CLE fees. All registration payments are due by Friday, November 8th. Please do not submit your registration payment until you pass the GA Bar. If you need to cancel your registration for the conference, the refund cut-off date is Friday, November 8th by 5pm. Any refund requests after this date will have to be reviewed by the Director of Training, Kelli Baxter.
Credit
There will be at least 11 total CLE hours offered for this training course, including ethics and professionalism hours. No POST or Advocate credits are available for this course.
Lodging
Below is the negotiated rate for the local hotel we contracted with. Attendees are responsible for booking their own lodging.

Reimbursement
Reimbursement of attendees is based on the availability of state funds for that purpose. For District Attorney and Solicitors-General personnel, reimbursements come out of the approved travel budge. Employees of other agencies are not eligible for reimbursement by PAC. PAC does not reimburse registration fees. Please review the reimbursement policy here.
